Hubble Network

Hubble Network

Seattle, WA, USA
USD 90k-150k / year
Posted on Feb 18, 2026

Hubble Network was founded with the intention of delivering on the promise of what Internet-of-Things (IoT) was supposed to be. We're building a global Bluetooth® network dedicated to machine-to-machine connectivity. We differentiate ourselves as the first modem-less and gateway-less, direct-to-satellite network from off-the-shelf Bluetooth® Low Energy chips. Hubble is ideal for applications in logistics, AgTech, and maritime where economies of scale for volume consumer and enterprise asset tracking is a priority. Our goal is to be the first billion-endpoint-connected network in the world.

Hubble is an early-stage, venture-backed startup supported by some of the best investors in the world. In their previous lives, the founding team has been successful in raising $100s of millions in venture funding, developing the Amazon Sidewalk network, launching billions of dollars of space assets, and leading their teams to successful exits, both through acquisition and IPO. We are now looking to bring on talented team members who are the best at what they do to help us make Hubble a reality for the world.

We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to drive the detailed design of our satellite payloads. This is a builder-focused role where you will work in close collaboration with our Senior Mechanical Engineers and CTO to turn concepts into flight-ready hardware. You will act as a key contributor to our engineering team, taking clearly defined mechanical objectives—such as packaging a phased array or routing complex cabling—and engineering robust solutions.

This position offers a unique balance of execution and innovation: you will perform detailed engineering to support and improve our
current satellite fleet, while simultaneously contributing to the conceptual design of our next-generation satellites.

This is a full-time position based in Seattle, WA.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Space Mechanisms: Design, detail, and prototype high-reliability space mechanisms, including hold-down release mechanisms (HDRMs), deployment hinges, and actuation systems required to deploy payloads in orbit.
Harnessing & Routing: Execute detailed 3D routing and cable management strategies. You will design the securing methods for extensive harnessing within the tight volume constraints of the payload.
Payload Packaging: Design mechanical structures to house complex RF layouts, specifically mounting PCBs to composite panels with precision standoffs, stiffeners, and fittings.

GSE & Test Fixtures: Design and support the fabrication of ground support equipment, lifting fixtures, and test stands required to handle, transport, and qualify flight hardware.
Engineering Documentation: Produce high-quality manufacturing drawings, assembly procedures, and Bills of Materials (BOMs) to guide production and integration.

AN IDEAL CANDIDATE MEETS OUR VALUES:

A Sense of Urgency: Lead projects from concept to reality, rapidly and effectively

First Principles Engineering: Have a strong understanding of the whys behind the whats; have the ability to extrapolate from first principles to complex system design

High Learning Agility: Love to learn; have a grounded approach to recognizing your weaknesses and take the initiative to brush up on and sharpen your engineering foundations to better collaborate with your teammates with different backgrounds

System-Level Design and Analysis: Understand the requirements flow down process and be able to quickly iterate on evolving requirements
Excellent Communication Skills: Effectively convey ideas and communicate technical topics with engineering, build staff, and operations; run self-directed design reviews and participate in reviews of parallel systems
Anticipation of Needs: Identify problems, think creatively, and rapidly produce reliable and cost-effective solutions to meet the ever growing and changing needs of an early-stage company

How We Work
Mentorship & Collaboration: You will operate with the support of senior technical leadership. We value engineers who can take direction, ask the right questions, and execute high-quality work with precision.
Tools: We use Onshape for CAD. Proficiency in any modern CAD suite (SolidWorks, NX, Catia) is acceptable, provided you are ready to adapt quickly.

QUALIFICATIONS:
3–5 Years of Experience: Demonstrated history of delivering hardware from concept to production, preferably in the Aerospace or Satellite sectors.
Mechanism Experience: Familiarity with the design or analysis of moving mechanical assemblies, releases, or deployable structures.
Harnessing Knowledge: Practical experience with cable routing, bend radii, and connector selection for high-reliability environments.
Prototype & Build: A strong portfolio of "building"—whether professional projects or personal engineering efforts. We look for engineers who understand how to assemble, torque, and test what they design.
Composites Awareness: Experience interfacing with honeycomb panels, inserts, and composite structures is highly desired.

Why Join Hubble?
Technical Growth: You will work directly with seasoned engineers who have built space flight hardware, providing an ideal environment to accelerate your skills.
Impact: You are not just designing a bracket; you are packaging the core technology that connects the 5 billion Bluetooth devices already on Earth today.
Future Design: You will have a seat at the table as we define the architecture for the next generation of Hubble satellites.
